8/16: Recent nights and today...
8/10: AJ and Mike on Eric and FMT's (formerly AJ's) balcony.

8/10: 14th Street lights up.

8/12: Behn and Katie look hot at Behn's "going away to Berkeley!" party at Chi-Cha, which was followed by Augusta's "going away to London!" party at Black Cat.

8/15: The Danielle Steel(e) Society of Advanced Poetics gathered at Cafe Mozart for a regularly occurring meeting of the most amazing minds in the capital of the free world.

8/16: I traversed seldom seen streets on the way to meet Alissa for an afternoon of fun. After viewing the Christenberry show we lunched with Jess on the steps of The National Portrait Gallery before bowling and beer at Chinatown's Lucky Strike Lanes, followed by a bit of walking on a gorgeous August day that made me long for Europe.

8/10: Eric and Mike moved Gerry to Dupont, I helped unload.

While in SW to return the truck, Eric pointed out this sweeeeet construction site. The pile-driver broadcast phat beatz across the neighborhood, "dun-dunh..CHA dun-dunh..CHA dun-dunh..CHA dun-dunh..CHA"

8/6: At some moment between Friday and Sunday morning someone took a screwdriver to my passenger door lock and gracefully appropriated my eight-year-old car stereo and a book of my favorite and newest CDs. Thankfully, whoever it was didn't smash my window and even kindly re-locked my doors before leaving my driveway with said loot in hand. Sadly, this otherwise thoughtful individual also took with him a small old socket set that had been my granddaddy's and that was one of my highly valued sentimental ways of connecting with him over the sixteen years (nearly to the day) he has been dead. I would sort of like to slam this person's fingers in my car door. But it's not really worth getting upset about. Instead I wish him luck and hope the loot provides the jumpstart he must have needed.

(Mike Corcoran demonstrates the proper technique for a quick and easy stereo removal)
